A dark, gothic series trailer made using the Sims 3 game engine. A proper, more detailed series using voice actors is currently in development. This trailer shows some insight into the past, and sets up a premise for the series. It’s basically about a devious, charismatic and manipulative serial killer with a fascination for ghosts and the undead. Although his true origin is a mystery to him, he has inherited his father’s dark legacy. NOTE: I’ve never played Sims before, I’m more of a FPS kinda guy but thought it’d be a pretty decent engine for making movies. It gives me practice directing and editing movies, which is fun, and I’ve made it fairly cinematic. No copyright infringement intended.

Thanks. Yeah, the boy was Alex (the main character) when he was 11. I use the in game camera, and have edited the camera related ini file. Filming positions can be setup up and the camera will pan to that position when triggered, I sometimes use that but I often just do it manually.
wow i luved this one!! really looking forward to the eps. who was the little boy was that him when he was little??
how do u film all swervy so it looks all real?? isn’t there some kind of way to use a certain camer tool?

I use the color blue, but not move the cursor much. Also recording under certain lighting conditions, making them appear white.

Episode 3 is being uploaded as I type, heh (eps 1 and 2 are uploaded). The actual series uses voices and pro sound FX. It was hard work as what happens in the story is beyond the scope of the sims game engine, but I’m hoping my improvisation works.

It’s quite a complex series with several sub plots, twists and turns and stuff – I’ve always wanted to make a movie out of one of my stories (I’m an aspiring writer).
