If you have the time try the charity shops – if you can’t see what you are after ask if they have anything in the store rooms as they never have enough room to display everything they have,
I got an amazing black layered lace skirt and they had a selection of satin bustier type things too (not that an old lady like me would wear them though!)

First learn to tell the difference between goth and emo.

    Goth:
Wears long black trenchcoat, loose-fitting pants covered in rivets and heavy boots
    Has long straight black hair
Listens to Nightwish, Cradle of Filth and the more dramatic classical pieces like tocatta and fugue in d minor or Night on Bald Mountain
Drinks Absinthe, red wine, snakebites and sometimes blood (if they’re a vampire role player)
Is usually nonviolent and keeps to themselves but can be terrifying if provoked
Wears silver rings and jewellery, often with a pagan motif like a pentagram
Is often accused of being a satanist
Enjoys the movies of Tim Burton, black and white movies like Dracula or Frankenstein and literature by Shelley and Byron.
Also loves high culture like opera or the theatre
Is a romantic attracted to ancient buildings and abandoned ruins. They are often seen in graveyards admiring the ancient monuments.

    Emo:
Wears a hoodie, skate shoes and skinny jeans
Has a long fringe dyed black
Listens to Fall out boy, MCR and Panic at the disco
Cries and cuts themselves when upset and acts suicidal to get attention
When mocked claims to be misunderstood
Wears soft checkered wristbands and belts with pyramid studs
Enjoys more contemporary movies like Twilight

Emo kids buy their clothing from ebay, “alternative” websites like Hot Topic or shops that sell “punk” clothing.
Although goths sometimes buy studs, belts and frilly shirts there they usually avoid such places. If you want to be goth buy your clothes from charity shops and alter it (girls often wear old wedding dresses dyed black), antique shops for more unusual stuff like a cane or top hat, DIY stores for chains and rivets (if available) and army surplus stores for boots.

Like nick said emo and goth are huge different, except for they both like the color black and eye makeup.

Emo is much more along the llines of “scene” kids. You have choppy shorter hair, long in front spiked in back. Dye multi color or black. They where hoodies, band tee shirts that seem to small, and either dickes, or girls jeans on boys.

Emo girls are a bit more colorful and lively, generally blond hair with brown undertone, and pink streaks.

Anyway to get emoish clothes cheap, most of the time my fiance’ would shop at places like savers and other thrift stores. Buy like you know Cub scout shirts, or real vintage tees. You know the kind A&F always trys to copy, like the westerchaster little league, or like la jolla youth basketball etc.

Those are some examoles. Also Band shirts, band shirts are huge in the emo/”scene” stylee.

But my fiance’ said the best place is thrift stores, then buffalo exchange and then he said he suppose mall stores like hot topic and etc. But a major part of the whole image is developing your own unique style and mixing and matching.
