why the Gothic Horror Stories (the past centuries) in the Movies are the most fascinating?

like the memory of the british Hammer Studio (with Cushing & Lee)
or the italian classic Giallo with Mario Bava, Lucio Fulci & Dario Argento
the younger generation are more into the Harry Potter stuff, and the Twilight stuff (. . . “Cirque du Freak” actually looks like a combination of both). There’s is no appreciation of the classic gothic horror romance type of movies of the past. It’s a pity that they don’t at least give it a try; they do not know what they are missing. . .

The Gothic Horror Movies are more interesting because there aren’t as many of those as there are movies that take place in modern times. Another reason that the ones that are about past centuries are so interesting is because we are not used to the dialogue and the way things were so it’s just very interesting to watch. They also usually have a much darker and serious tone and are the perfect setting for a horror film.
